In accordance with Government Resolution No 530 of 26 July 2010, On Approving the Procedure for the Creation, Reorganisation, Reclassification and Liquidation of Federal State Institutions, and Approving and Amending Charters of Federal State Institutions, the Directive establishes the International Anti-Mine Centre of the Russian Armed Forces, a federal state institution under the Russian Defence Ministry.
The Centre’s principal objectives include training foreign specialists to clear mines in open and closed spaces as part of peacekeeping and humanitarian operations of the UN and other international organisations, as well as training specialists to neutralise improvised explosive devices.
