The meeting, which took place on April 25, was attended by Minister Mikhail Abyzov; Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov; Director of the Department of State Regulation of the Ministry of Economic Development Alexei Khersontsev; Director of the Public Service Development Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security Dmitry Basnak, and members of the Government Commission and the Russian Government’s Expert Council.
Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov reported on the progress in implementing the Open Data Concept, noting that work is underway to establish standard recommendations with regard to open data publication and architecture. Michael Abyzov instructed the Ministry of Communications to come up with regulations defining open data standards, formats and architecture to include amendments to Federal Law No 8 by June 10, 2013.
Alexei Khersontsev from the Ministry of Economic Development told the meeting participants about the automated information system for monitoring the official websites of executive bodies and local authorities, developed by the department that is designed to assess websites' compliance with Federal Law No 8. According to him, the system will go live on June 30, 2013.
Director of the Public Service Development Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security Dmitry Basnak spoke about training public servants to handle open data. Subsequently, Mikhail Abyzov instructed the Open Data Council and the Ministry of Labour to create a detailed schedule for the educational programme.
