Submitted by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Government Resolution No 397 dated 7 May, 2009, “On the Conditions of Stay on the Territory of the Russian Federation for Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons Arriving in the Russian Federation for Tourism by Ferries Licenced for Passenger Transport”, approved the Statute on the presence on the territory of Russia of said citizens and the list of ports through which they are allowed to enter Russia.
In accordance with the Statute, foreign citizens and stateless persons can stay in Russia for 72 hours without a visa if they stay on ferries or in other places determined by a group tourist programme.
The resolution adds the seaport of Sevastopol to the list of ports through which entry to Russia is allowed for said citizens.
The decision is aimed at creating favourable conditions for visits to the Crimean Federal District by visitors from countries forming the main tourist flows in Russia.
The implementation of the resolution will boost the attractiveness of the region in terms of tourism and will contribute to the development of tourism in general.
