The meeting discussed the results of the implementation of the State Programme for the Development of Agriculture and Regulation of Agricultural Products, Raw Materials and Food Markets for the Period 2008-2012. Taking part in the discussion were representatives of the executive authorities of the Russian regions, and heads of federal state institutions, and industry-specific unions and associations.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Yuryev delivered a report on the implementation of the programme. He said that over the past seven years there had been a 16.8% increase in productivity for all categories of farming, including a 14.6% increase for crop productivity and a 14.9% increase in livestock productivity.
A total of around 730 billion roubles had been allocated for the implementation of the state programme, of which 487 billion roubles came from the federal budget and 242.7 billion roubles from regional budgets. Financial measures overall in all areas had been carried out at 18.5%.
The Minister of Agriculture stressed that an analysis of the results of the implementation of the state programme for the period 2008-2012 was important for successfully carrying out the new state programme for 2013-2020. The conclusions drawn should be taken into account in the work of the Agriculture Ministry, the regional governing bodies of the agriculture sector, lawmakers and agricultural producers.
