Directive will help continue the accepted practice of previous Olympic and Paralympic Games to present various goods to educational institutions and sport organisations of the country hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games on behalf of the International Olympic Committee, and the International Paralympic Committee, as well as national Olympic and Paralympic committees.
The document was drafted by the Ministry of Sport in line with Clause 20 of the Regulations for Using Special Customs Procedure with Regard to Foreign Products Being Imported into the Russian Federation for the Purpose of Organising and Holding Olympic and Paralympic Games, approved by Government Resolution No 911 of 3 November 2011, as well as in execution of the Government instruction.
The approved list includes 13 national winter sport federations and the Sochi City Resort municipal entity. The above-mentioned organisations shall receive sport gear and equipment on behalf of the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee, as well as national Olympic and Paralympic committees and other legal entities and individuals importing foreign goods and products for organising and holding the Olympic and Paralympic Games after the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Sochi City Resort shall organise the transfer of free sport gear and equipment to 13 secondary and sport schools in the city that promote winter sports and ensure the sport training of children, including children with impaired health.
National winter sport federations shall use sport gear and equipment, due to be received free of charge, to train prospective members of the Russian national team and to promote mass sport.
