The Government has adopted a decision on the establishment of crisis management centres that are part of the Unified State Emergencies Prevention and Relief Centre and on their future development

The issue was discussed at a Government meeting on October 4.

The Government instructed the Ministry of Emergencies, the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of the Interior to ensure the necessary information cooperation when determining the emergency relief level in accordance with the Russian legislation, and to report on the results to the Government in compliance with the established procedure in the first quarter of 2013.

The federal executive bodies and authorised organisations that have functional subsystems of the Unified State Emergencies Prevention and Relief Centre are to complete the establishment of daily management bodies of the Unified Centre at the federal level in 2013, including provisions for the introduction of modern information technology.

The executive bodies of the Russian regions were advised to act within their competence in establishing daily management bodies of the Unified Centre at the regional, municipal and site levels and to improve their operation.

The Ministry of Emergencies was instructed to work together with the relevant federal and regional executive bodies in providing information about the results of the efforts in this area in a separate section of the annual report on the protection of the Russian people and territory from natural disasters and man-made catastrophes.
