Alexander Novak speaks at the opening of the 8th Russia-China Energy Business Forum
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak addressed the opening of the 8th Russia-China Energy Business Forum, which began in Vladivostok. The event brought together Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Ding Xuexiang, Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin, Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev, senior industry and banking executives, and representatives of development institutions.
The forum is aimed at strengthening Russia-China dialogue in the energy sector, enhancing the efficiency of bilateral cooperation, expanding the portfolio of joint projects, and attracting investment.
“Our common goal is to strengthen energy security, ensure stable supplies, and expand cooperation in infrastructure, technology, and investment. Russia is committed to the closest possible cooperation with its Chinese friends across all areas, from traditional energy resources to new technological and climate solutions. Alongside its resources, one of Russia’s most important contributions to the market is reliability. Even amid external pressure, the Russian fuel and energy sector continues to fully honour its commitments, playing a stabilising role in the global energy market. I am confident that the business forum will provide an opportunity to discuss all these issues in detail and determine our next steps,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Concluding his remarks, Alexander Novak invited his Chinese colleagues to attend the Russian Energy Week International Forum, which will be held in Moscow in October 2026.
