First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and Deputy Premier of the State Council of China Ding Xuexiang chaired the 13th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission on Investment Cooperation on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.
“In the first six months of this year, mutual trade grew by 22 percent, exceeding $135 billion. At this rate, we are confidently advancing towards our target of $300 billion. Expanding investment cooperation is helping to lay a solid foundation for further sustainable growth in trade. The Commission’s updated project portfolio includes 65 current and 26 prospective projects worth a total of around $240 billion. More than half of them are already at the implementation stage,” First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said.
According to him, the projects cover a wide range of industries, from iron-and-steel, chemicals and forestry to engineering, the agro-industrial sector, transport, trade and logistics. In 2026, six new projects were added to the Commission’s portfolio. They include projects involving the production of refractory materials, food additives and components, the development of chemical complexes, and the extraction and processing of iron ore.
“Creating comfortable and predictable conditions for further expanding investment cooperation remains our priority,” Denis Manturov stressed.
The First Deputy Prime Minister outlined three key areas of the Commission’s work in the near term. These include ongoing monitoring and targeted support for the Commission’s projects, improving the business community’s awareness of available investment opportunities, and identifying new forms and tools for raising financial resources to implement investment projects.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Denis Manturov and Ding Xuexiang signed the Final Protocol of the 13th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission on Investment Cooperation.
