The Prime Minister and Nguyen Phu Trong will discuss the current state of bilateral relations and their prospects, including expanded economic and trade relations and greater cooperation in the areas of investment, science and technology, and culture and education. The parties will also discuss the progress of negotiations on the draft Free Trade Agreement between the Customs Union and Vietnam. 

The talks will also focus on increasing cooperation between the United Russia Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam.
