The crew of the Sedov sailing training vessel of the Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Learning Murmansk State Technical University have been awarded an honorary certificate for a successful global cruise dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Russian statehood and the memorable events in the history of geographic discoveries, as well as for their professional excellence displayed during the voyage.
The voyage around the world was organised and carried out under Government Executive Order No. 699-r of May 3, 2012. It took the vessel 14 months to sail around the globe, covering a total of 47,000 miles in the process. The trip included four crossings of the equator and stops at 32 ports of 24 countries. During the voyage, 330 cadets and students completed a practical training course and were awarded certificates of professional qualification.
